First things first – your styles in 3 words:
Simple. Streamlined. Strong.
What are you currently renting?
I had an influencer dinner on last week so I rented the ‘Treasure Trove Dress’ by Thurley as I was after something a little more special. I also had a romantic lunch date so chose the ‘Wisteria Mini Dress’ by Camilla and Marc as it’s still stylish but effortless. I paired with a leather jacket and black booties as Melbourne weather can be temperamental. Speaking of work..
Tell us about your career! How’d you get there?
I’ve worked in PR & Communications for over 15 years. I did a degree in communications and started my PR career in agency land, before heading in-house where I’ve been for over 10 years. I love the constantly changing landscape of communications and what the rise of digital and social did to the industry!
Do you have a style icon?
I love women are aren’t afraid to express themselves with fashion. My current style icons are Aimee Song, Camila Caelho & Julie Sarinana.
How’d you discover Your Closet?
With my job I am constantly photographed at events on a regular basis and I’m busy: I work full-time and I’m a mum so I often need something last minute (I take full advantage of the 3 hour shipping!). I discovered Your Closet a few years ago and haven’t looked back! I rent for a lot of work events, weddings, holidays and anything really. I really love the contribution hiring has for the environment. It means I’m lessoning my footprint and I can justify only wearing items once!
What is your favourite rental to date?
My favourite is the ‘Montecarlo Dress’ by Rebecca Vallance. The powder blue colour is just beautiful, the fit was amazing and I received so many compliments on it. I wore it to my friend Chloe’s Wedding and it was just perfect!
Renting gives me the freedom to..
Renting allows me to embrace trends without having to be rational in my purchases. It allows me to focus on buying investment pieces, like neutrals, while also trying new brands and designers in a commitment-free way.
